I stopped technical climbing about 35 years ago when I left Boulder, Colorado, bought a ranch on the west slope, and spent most of what spare time I had exploring rivers. I've missed climbing off and on over the years, but never had a partner to climb with. I've got a new neighbor who likes to climb so it's my golden opportunity to pick up kind of where I left off.

So Tom and I headed down to Mulkey Gulch, near Drummond, Montana, for an afternoon in the sun.

I don't know what the routes we did are named, but one of these days we'll find out. Tom led the first route up to a bolted anchor, where we set up a toprope to work on the other routes which shared that anchor.
